Intense Pulsed Light (IPL) directs high intensity pulses of light into the skin to treat various skin problems. IPL systems work in the same way as lasers – light energy is absorbed by certain target cells in the skin. This light energy is then transformed into heat energy, which causes damage to the target cells. Unlike lasers, however, IPL delivers many wavelengths (or colours) in each pulse of light instead of just one wavelength.
How does the Ellipse treatment works?
Ellipse I2PL Plus uses Selective Waveband Technology, which has extra filters to carefully control the light that reaches the skin. The light penetrates the skin better, contains only the wavelengths needed to get results, and destroys target cells without damaging normal tissue. This translates to more effective treatment, with less side effects and downtime.
What can Ellipse treat?
- Hair removal
Put an end to slow, painful and messy methods of hair removal! Light energy is absorbed by the melanin pigment in hair, before being converted to heat energy. This heat is then transferred to hair follicles, which are destroyed. - Photorejuvenation
- Treatment of vascular lesions
