The Dissolvable Threadlift Procedure involves the precise insertion of fine threads into the skin to result in the lifting of saggy regions of the face eg. jowls, cheeks, laugh lines, etc. These threads will spontaneously dissolve over time.
How is the prodedure performed?
Firstly, a detailed consultation will be held with Dr J Ngiam to determine if you are suitable for the Threadlifting Procedure. This treatment may be combined with botulinum toxin and facial fillers to achieve the best possible aesthetic outcome. No special pre-procedure preparation is needed prior to coming to the clinic. At the clinic, your face will be cleansed and numbing cream applied and left on for approximately 30 minutes. Subsequently, Dr J Ngiam will proceed to mark out the treatment areas. Local anaesthetic will then be carefully injected to numb the treatment areas. This will then be followed by the careful and precise insertion of PLLA/PDO threads to achieve an immediate lifting effect. After the threads have been placed, excess thread length will be trimmed off and sterile waterproof dressing will be applied. A short segment of tape will then be placed to maintain the lift.
What are the possible side effects?
You may experience some redness, swelling and bruising after the procedure. The redness and swelling typically resolve over a period of 3 to 5 days. Bruising may take about 1 to 2 weeks to resolve.
When can I see results?
An immediate lifting effect can often be seen after the procedure, however, this can be attributed in part to the swelling that occurs. The best results can be seen approximately 1 month after the procedure is performed.
How long do the results last?
The results last for approximately 1 year.
