Nose threads are made of synthetic, dissolvable material which is placed carefully and precisely to improve the aesthetic contour of the nose.
How is the prodedure performed?
Firstly, a thorough consultation is performed by Dr J Ngiam, who will determine if you are suitable for the procedure. There is no special preparation needed prior to coming to the clinic on the day of the procedure. Your face is cleansed and numbing cream applied and left on for approximately 20 to 30 minutes. Next, local anaesthetic will be injected to further numb the puncture site (usually at the tip of the nose). A needle will be used to make a small puncture at the tip of the nose. Subsequently, an average of 4 to 6 threads are placed to contour the nose. A dressing is applied at the puncture site after the procedure is complete.
Are there any side effects?
These are similar to the possible side effects of dissolvable threads previously discussed. (see dissolvable threads)
When can I see results?
Results are seen immediately post-procedure.
How long do the results last?
The results last for approximately 1 year.
