What are enlarged pores?

Enlarged pores are depressions in the facial skin surface that contain one or more openings to the ducts carrying sweat and oil from their respective eccrine and sebaceous glands.

What you need to know

Factors include but are not limited to the following

  • Increased sebum/oil production
  • Acne
  • Hair follicle size
  • Use of comedogenic products
  • Loss of skin elasticity with age
  • Sun damage

These include a combination of avoidance of comedogenic products, weight loss which reduces sebum production, chemical peels, lasers and Agnes (needle radiofrequency) treatment. Please see the respective treatment subpages for more details.
