WHAT IS COOLSCULPTING®?
COOLSCULPTING® is the world leader in the use of cryolipolysis (FAT-FREEZING) technology to PERMANENTLY remove stubborn fat around the body.
WHAT ARE THE COMMON TREATMENT AREAS OF THE BODY?
Common problematic areas for fat accumulation include the following:
– Double Chin
– Upper arms
– Fat above the bra line
– Gynaecomastia (in males)
– Lower buttock fat
– Inner and outer thighs
HOW DOES COOLSCULPTING® WORK AND WHAT MAKES IT UNIQUE?
Coolsculpting® is the original cryolipolysis device that uses patented controlled-cooling technology to safely draw heat out of fat cells. These fat cells are cooled to -11 Degrees Celcius and undergo programmed cell death (apoptosis). This leads to a permanent reduction in the number of fat cells in the treated area.
COOLSCULPTING®’s unique points are as follows:
- Clinically proven
- No downtime
- Lasting, visible results
- No anaesthesia required
- No special diets
- No needles
HOW IS THE COOLSCULPTING® PROCEDURE PERFORMED?
After a detailed consultation and physical assessment of the problem areas (eg. double chin, love handles, muffin tops, etc) by Dr Ngiam, a customized treatment plan is discussed with the patient. Written consent and clinical photos are obtained prior to procedure commencement. On the day of the Coolsculpting® procedure, markings are done to guide the treatment. Gel pads and applicators are applied and the procedure starts. After the end of the treatment cycles, a gentle massage is performed to soothe the treated areas.
IS THERE ANY DOWNTIME AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
There is NO DOWNTIME after the procedure. Patients can resume their normal daily routine straight after the procedure.
WHEN CAN I EXPECT TO SEE RESULTS?
The Coolsculpting® procedure is normally perfomed twice spaced 1 month apart. The above is called treatment “stacking”, which will improve clinical results. The best results are usually seen approximately 3-6 months after the first treatment sitting. Visible results can usually be seen 1-2 months after the first treatment sitting.
ARE THERE ANY PROTENTIAL SIDE EFFECTS?
Post-procedure, you might experience some of the common symptoms or side effects as below:
- Aching pain
- Numbness or parasthesia (the feeling of “pins and needles”)
- Lumpiness of the skin/soft tissues
- Skin colour, pigment changes
